I have called Charlie Ahsing, the Pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, and
I have left a message for him at his home and at the Church. After work I
will just drive by there if we have not spoken.

EVEN BETTER..

Taylor Cody has made a huge first move for us. Through the Air Force, we
appear to be getting the computers he listed in a previous post. It is
quoted at the end for quick reference. Pay close attention to the comment
that there are dozens of custodians capable of such donations within his
workplace. Another key point is that this donation is coming from the
military. Taylor would like for us to try and use as many military
volunteers as is possible. This is possible. Plus, if his equipment
sources play out, we will rapidly need more people to take the donations.
The military relationship may just help to generate enough publicity to
accomplish this.

He is checking out the machines and wiping the drives. We are aiming to
have them delivered to Mid-Pac, yes, delivered, by the InstallFest now
slated for next week. KUDOS to Taylor, and to all of you interested.

Taylor's letter:

Well I just got some good news, we just got a green light on donating old
PC's to schools. We don't have to go through the usual long process either.
If possible I would like someone to take a look at what we have and decide
what could be used. I know we have about 12 Dell GXa PC's which are PII-233
machines. There are also several SUN sparc 5's and 20's, and im not sure
what else. It would also be good if we came up with something for a few
military folks to do, to help out. They could help move the machines and
physically set them up. They could also pull cable and stuff like that.
The more we can get them involved the better. Does the school need more
bodies on building the Lab? This is just donated equipment from one
equipment custodian, there are dozens more
