Alvin,

	I believe that the lack of WP filters is intentional, but not malicious.  
Anyway, when the StarOffice began, the idea was to get an office suite for 
Linux up and running that would do the most people the most good, so the 
developers decided to go after M$ documents since  M$ had the lion's ashare 
of the market space.  The hope is that someday the rest of the import filters 
would get worked out and added to the suite.  If you really need WP filters, 
send a note to the developers and maybe they can make it happen.
