I don't disagree. I'm just saying that GIMP supports MDI and has an
interface similar to Photoshop.

You were criticizing GIMP because it's interface isn't like Photoshop,
but it is! From a functional point of view, they are completely
different beasts, but from an ui point of view, they are very similar.

You think it should have Window-in-Window MDI? There have been many,
many flamewars^W discussions about W-in-W MDI on the various GTK+/GNOME
lists. Eventually most people think it's really awful from a usable UI
point of view. I'm all for adding hints to ease people into
tranistions, but bad UI shouldn't be mimiced, imo. I don't think the
Mac version of Photoshop has W-in-W MDI. It uses some other more
sensible form of MDI, iirc. Any graphics artists out there can verify
that for me?

>Have you even tried it? I don't think I am exaggerating at all when I say
>"improved in all respects".

No, but does it have a new version of rpm? Does it have better FHS
support? Any support to make it match LSB better? Does it support more
architectures? I'm just saying there are always more areas that can be
improved and there is no way that a product can improve in "all
respects", because there are infinitely many. My real point wasn't that
specific sentence, but just the whole theme of your email. It sounded
to me like Dvorak was writing the email and not you.

Well it's a Free OS so anyone can use it who likes, and I suppose it's
good that even nay-sayers are getting into the OS now. I don't
necessarily agree with your statement that Dvorak speaks from the
perspective of all nay-sayers tho. Everyone has their own reasons for
feeling the way they do about things.

Interesting that now you say the Linux desktop is good, when in previous
mails you were saying it wasn't. Sounds like you are wearing off from
the Dvorak drug :-)
