Which Mandrake Kernel to upgrade to?

I was having some stability problems with the Mandrake Cooker kernels around
2.4.17 on my Athlon notebook. I ended up compiling a Linus 2.4.18-pre
version and it seems stable for me, so I'm guessing the 2.4.18 Mandrake
kernel there would work well if you aren't running any of the extra features
contained only in the mdk kernels.
