The .EML files were caused by a variant of the WM32/Nimda virus...The other
thing to watch out for is numerous copies of Riched20.dll This worm hit our
network and spread to about 20 machines over the network before we were able
to stop it.

I would download the Panda Antivirus for Linux from www.pandasoftware.com
and follow the directions and install and run it. with the following
switches... /usr/bin/pavcl32 -AEX -CMP -AUT -CLV it will clean the Virus
and will make the files removable. At least that was our experience....One
warning though...Don't run this command line as a superuser scheduled
task...It will thrash your cpu resources and bring your server to a
screeching halt..Always run it in the foreground.

Subject: [luau] trying to remove .eml files

Hi everyone, asking for help again. For a while, I had a virus or worm
on one of my win machines, which sent small messages all around my lan,
wherever it found an open share. I have learned my lesson, installed
virus software, firewalls, etc.. But I am left with 55 files spread
around my home directory with names like "food.eml". I cannot remove
them whatever I try; the most recent thing I tried was the dangerous
logging on, i.e. booting as root (red screen, warning); then when I
tried to remove some of the files using Konqueror (find files, then
delete), there was a new wrinkle; now the message I get is "there is no
such file" or similar. Looking for any ideas. Thanks
