Well, if you are using the Enlightenment desktop, I know how to fix that,
but you probably aren't.  You need to specify what window manager you are
using.  Some terms might help you though, the huge screen is the 'virtual
desktop' while the multiple screens are 'multiple desktops'.  Maybe that
diffirentiation will at least help you find help in the documentation.  If
slackware has the 'switchdesk' command, you might try typing that at the
commandline and seeing what desktops are available.  A quick fix might be
to just switch to a different desktop that you are more familiar with. 
Otherwise you need to see the docs for your particular window manager or at
least include it's name in your request.
