There is no rate per-minute as the connection is 24/7.  The rate is 19.2, but it's practically 9600.  Web browsing is only tolerable in Lynx, ttytt.  I'll have to see tonight whether Verizon has cut me off yet. <eg>

The 802.11 is no problem, and I have a grip of spare equipment if needed.
