1GHz Athlon Systems for $500

I am continuing to confirm the prices with the vendor.  For a while there I thought "Wow, I can bring this cost to around $470."  Then I realized, "Doh!  I forgot to add the cost of the ATX case."  Sorry folks.  Here's the price estimates.  I am ordering parts this weekend.

These are only QUALITY parts, I don't buy cheap stuff.  I picked the GlobalWin HSF because it is rated up to 1400MHz and very quiet.  If you guys want to bring the cost down, let me know if you want to remove the Floppy or CD-ROM.  The CD-ROM is black, and doesn't match the beige case.  The cheapest beige CD-ROM Sony 52x costs $55 if you want the matching color. 

You can also choose the CPU.

These are only cost estimates.  I will have final prices by Friday.  Let me know if you want a system, and which parts you want.  I'll be selling these assembled boxes AT COST, as long as people help me put them together.  When these parts come in, I will be teaching some kids to put computers together, but we could use some help in assembly and testing.
