I have set up vmware on my machine and installed Win98 to test it out.
When you set up a virtual machine for each os you want to run, you can
use a 'wizard' to set up your options including floppy, cdrom, and even
networking.

I can't tell you about the limitations because I have yet to install any
software such as Netscape or MS Office. From the documentation, there
appears to be limitations in such things as joysticks, etc.

If you go to www.vmware.com, you can find all of the information I have
just given you.
