Direct your attention to the HorizSync line in your XF86Config file.
Also make note of the (---) messages in the Xserver error output.
Because of "HorizSync 30-94" the Xserver decided it can't use any
modelines in your configuration file.  So it quits because, quite
naturally, no "screens" can be found.  "Screens" in this case, means a
"Modeline" it can use within the scope of the XF86Config guidelines.
