About the Instructor:

John Terpstra is a cofounder of the Samba-Team. He is heavily involved 
in creating the strategy behind Samba and plays a central role in 
answering user questions and writing the resulting documentation. He is 
also a full-time consultant providing business process and mentoring 
services.

Samba Training - Day 1 - Windows Networking and Samba Basics

Delegates who attend this 1 day course should have a basic familiarity 
with MS Windows Networking and with Linux. Delegates will learn:

How to solve basic Samba networking problems
Diagnostic techniques using Samba
- Validation of NetBIOS name resolution
- Basics of Authentication
- File, Directory and Share Access Control
Share Mode Security: What it does and how it works
How to build simple, but effective, Samba servers for:

Samba Training - Day 2 - Advanced Samba Networking

Delegates who attend this 1 day course must be familiar with MS Windows
networking and be adept at UNIX/Linux administration. Delegates will learn:

How to use the the new features of Samba-3
- Domain Control
- Configuring Domain Member Servers
- Roaming Profiles
- Transparent printing with CUPS

How to Configure MS Windows clients to reduce management overhead
A Basic overview of OpenLDAP and CUPS
An overview of Migration from NT4 to Samba
Diagnostic Techniques
An overview of Samba futures
