[LUAU] Multicast Video streaming for the Internet?

I may be a bit off base and I am not familiar with videocasting. I have been
broadcasting online radio since 1999 and can tell you that there are several
programs out there for multicasting. Most of these programs require the end
user to install some software on their machine which in turn makes their
machine a receiver and a transmitter. The idea is that when a new node
connects to the broadcast the software detects the closest connection point
to the end user and connects them to that node rather than the original
broadcast point. This can save tons of bandwidth for the broadcaster.

Unfortunately most of my experiance in this endeavor has been with Winblows
so I won't be of much help on the linux end. Maybe something exists like
this for what you are trying to accomplish with video???
