Last Saturday was the only time I was able to try to attend any hosef
mtg and I felt sorry that I didn't wait long enough until the door to open.

I will be out of town in the next few weeks. During this trip, I will
be talking to several friends who are with one of the largest notebook
PC makers in the world. They are very interested in Linux, but, just
like everyone else, don't know how and where to start. (Information
abounds, but the useful one is always missing.)

This brings up the subject of hosef. I am sure hosef is doing a great
job, but I always wonder whether it should break out from the cocoon of
placing too much resource, though still very limited, on revamping used
hardware. Of course, this is a very honorable thing, but I just thought
perhaps we should also focus on other avenues with more definitive goals
of making it less painful for businesses to adopt Linux?

I suspect these subjects must have been discussed at hosef mtgs. This
(i.e., ignorance) is one of the main perils of living (only) in a cyber
world. wayne
