| hey all, I just got a new laptop and have been trying to get the

| from connecting to anything... whenever I try to bring up the
| interface through ifconfig eth0 up, it gives me the error::
| SIOCSIFFLAGS: no such file or directory I tried researching this
| thing but have no idea what it is and what file it's referencing
| too... I tried reloading all my modules, kernels 2.4.22-2.6.7 (no
| joke, all of them), 3 different distributions, and nothing changes
| that message. Any ideas?

Most of the prism-based cards I have used are rebranded. I used a
Senao SL-2511CD Plus EXT2 and an SMC SMC 2532W-B. Both are Prism
2.5-based and work with the current orinoco drivers and are considered
the easiest to set-up in Linux, even on RHEL3. Have you tried
orinoco_pci?

I can't seem to find information on your card anywhere, do you have
lspci (or dump_cis if your pci-card is a bridge) output we can use to
identify the card?

I suspect the error is lack of fully implimenting wireless extensions
(what wireless-tools uses) in the ndiswrapper driver.
