[luau] Installing Linux on a disk on a ata/100 pci card

OK, I finally got it installed after fiddling with settings and trying
different partitioning utilities.

So now I'm tri-booting 
WIN2K
WIN2K3 server-eval
Slackware 9

What's the first few lines of the panic (everything before the actual
backtrace 
and and register dumps), and when EXACTLY does it happen.  Does it
happen during 
startup (before the installer starts), when you tell it what drive to
partition, 
when you write the partition table, etc.

Does it even detect the drive (check the startup messages for a
detection, you 
may way to use dmesg on the emergency console of your installer, alt+f2
with 
slackware).
