[luau] dirty cookie trick(?)

Scott,

You can have you browser set to not accept cookies or have it notify you
when its asking for a cookie. You can even clear your browser of all cookies
if you want it to. Cookies doesn't have to and cannot permanently reside on
your harddrive.

As for those ssl tactics you mentioned my guess is that the ad company wants
to protect the information that they are gathering through these cookies. Or
it could be that the webpage has ssl with a banner ad which sounds more
logical.
