I am wondering whether it is possible, and if so, how much it will be 
involved, to set up a small Linux research center.  The goal of this is 
not to invent something new (although that would be great, but I just 
don't think  we are good enought to entertain that thought yet), but to 
try to duplicate
systems that are being implemented in the industry.

I believe Linux is about to reach a critical momentum.  I don't know 
whether we have entities on the isles which have ready manpower to 
provide services when such needs/opportunities arise.

But at least we should try to establish an environment where we are able 
to at least supply people who can be quickly trained so that whichever 
company is hired to do Linux work on the isle(s) do not have to 
completely rely on transferring their engineers from mainland.
