No, they are only different arbitrary numbers.

Can internal LAN clients ping 192.168.1.1 on eth1?
Can the Linux machine ping the clients in 192.168.1.0/24?
Is the gateway address on the client computers 192.168.1.1?
Is the DNS set properly on the internal client computers?
