When my netgear drops the WAN side I can still telnet into the private
subnet on the LAN side and reboot. It's never a bad idea to go to
http://linksys.com/support/support.asp and see if there are any firmware
updates for your make and model.
Here is another link I found on linksys utilities. I doubt if it helps your
current situation.

I'm just curious, but have you tried power cycling it (unplug and plug
it back in)?
If so, is there a serial port on it that you could console in with?
