If you've configured your Mandrake Linux system to use the
framebuffer on startup, you will notice the total lack of boot
time messages.

There are several ways to get your boot time messages back:

* Press ALT-F11 during boot. This console logs and displays the boot up
messages.
* Use the 'noquiet' option on the boot loader prompt.
* To get back your boot messages permanently, remove the 'quiet' option
from the 'append' line in your '/etc/lilo.conf' and run the 'lilo'
command (as 'root')
* To get rid of the whole framebuffer, set the 'vga' parameter in
'lilo.conf' to 'normal'.
