insmod version 2.4.6
Usage:
insmod [-fhkLmnpqrsSvVxXyY] [-e persist_name] [-o module_name] [-O blob_name] 
[-P prefix] module [ symbol=value ... ]

there's no problem printing to stdout with perl, only when feeding it as an 
option to another program, can you give it a try and see if it does the same?
