Samba Question

I tried all of the above but nothing works. 98 uses encrypted passwords and I can access and use all the shares. I checked the NT machine and permissions are set to full. Netbios is not installed. What else could it be? I gave everyone smbpasswords and accounts. Still baffled. Jeff

Just a note: you'll likely need to use the smbpasswd utility to generate encrypted smb-usable passwords for each user accessing your Samba shares.

access any of the shares from. Is there a setting in the smb.conf to fixthis? I can access the NT share from other 95 and 98 machines. Could useall ideas.
For NT and above to connect to a Samba server with user level security(security = user) enabled you need to configure Samba to use encrytedpasswords (encrypt passwords = Yes). There are ways around it bymodifing the registry of each client machine but its not hard toconfigure Samba to except encrypted passwords.
