[luau] Problems with Red Hat 7.1 install

I am observing that you are using Rehat 7.1.  I think that you mentioned that 
came with a book.  Redhat has released a 7.2, a 7.3 and an 8.0  It is very 
possible that there was not support for some part of your video configuration 
at the time 7.1 was released.  I would suggest using a later version to try 
to eliminate that variable.

At some point of your installation you were prompted for where to install 
your bootloader.  It sounds like you did not put it in the MBR, but rather in 
the boot partition of your linux install.  If this is the case, the MBR does 
not know that linux exists and just goes into XP.  I have not done a dual 
boot box in a while, but I believe that your newer releases of RedHat will 
politely observe your Windows partition and more clearly offer the 
opportunity to include it in your boot order.
