[luau] Frozen System Problem with Mandrake 8.2

I tell you people, I'm having more problems with Mandrake 8.2 than I had 
with 8.1

Every morning during startup, my system is running something in the 
background, then the whole system freezes up and I have to reboot using the 
reboot button (keyboards and mouse is frozen).  I don't know what's 
happening.  But if this keeps up, I may end up switching from Mandrake 8.2 
to Redhat 7.2 if this keeps up... The only problem I'm concerned about is 
when I do switch, will I lose my files in my home folder?
