Turns out the server was fine, but the wonderfully competent network admin
completely changed the firewall and VLAN configurations without informing
anybody.  25% of campus services were down in the morning, with all Internet
servers still down tonight.  Hopefully we will be able to deal with this
tomorrow. =(
