Good News: HP and Apple drop support for W3C RAND

In Slashdot comments, Bruce Perens of HP (founder of the Open Source
Initiative) said that HP was never in support of RAND, but one of the names
of their attorneys mistakenly appeared on the RAND document.

It also appears that Bruce Perens and Eben Moglen of the FSF will be on the
W3C advisory board.

On the down side, IBM still supports RAND patents in W3C standards.
