Maybe a little more correct and clear presentation:

1 - Green Stripe
2 - Green
3 - Orange Stripe
4 - Blue
5 - Blue Stripe
6 - Orange
7 - Brown Stripe
8 - Brown

So the color sequence is Green, Orange, Blue, Brown; the leads alternate
stripe and solid; and the Orange pair is split apart so the Blue pair can go
in the middle. To work at CAT5 spec. the leads can't be untwisted more than
a 1/2" from the end of the cable.

EIA-568B sequences the colors Orange, Green, Blue, Brown, and if you put an
A on one end and a B on the other end of a jumper it is a cross over cable.
Don't mix up the two types when doing an installation.

In any installation (building, campus, company) someone determines a
standard, A or B, for that particular universe that should be forevermore
adhered to. Warren should try to find out if there exists a standard before
the installation.
