DHCP & Cable modem SOLVED

Which cable modem do you have? I have never had such problems on the
original fat white, and the skinnier black modem. (The stupid cable modem
died on me SEVEN times. Twice with smoke coming out the top, five times
with a weak signal.)

Have any of you folks seen the new USB cable modem that they are giving to
new subscribers? My friend ordered RR last week, and they said they no
longer need to install NIC's because they have a modem that plugs straight
into the USB. While RR via any ethernet card works great with Linux, who
knows if a driver exists for this USB modem?
