solaris

is there any solaris gurus outhere that might be able to help me?
I'm trying to setup soaris 8.0 on an old Ibm PC now, I get to the solaris installer screen & it tells me :
solaris is searching the system's hard disks for a location to place the solaris installer software.
then:
no disks that meet the criteria in the solaris installer documentation found.
does anyone know why this is happening or what do I need to do in order for solaris to install?

your help will be greatly appreciatted!!!
