Please also try my LUSER program.  It is a different type of syslog monitor
similar to Psionic Logcheck in which the administrator creates rules to
filter messages, then scheduled with cron so e-mail reports are sent to the
administrators at regular intervals.  Just download the tarball and follow
the directions.

I have only tested this program on Red Hat and Mandrake x86 platforms.
Theoretically it should work fine on BSD and Solaris, but I need someone who
runs those platforms to give it a try.  I don't know of a native Java SDK
for BSD, so you may have to run one via Linux emulation.  Give these a try.

Dusty's script to create html files from the log files has proved to
save me a lot of time. Instead of logging into the machine and doing the
regular viewing of the scripts, I just use a browser from anywhere to
view the log files.  Below is my use of the script in case anyone missed
Dusty's email the first time.
