XWin or Security problem?

Did you su after starting the X server?

If that is the case, you can enter xhost +hostname,
before you su to another user.
You may try it as root also.
(replace hostname with the actucal hostname of your system).
You should read the manpage to become aware of the implications of
using the xhost command. It reduces your security.
