States seek to open Microsoft code as antitrust remedy

The nine states still fighting Microsoft in its landmark antitrust case
proposed
 remedies Friday that include forcing the software maker to offer a version
of
Windows without any applications and free and open access to the source code
for
 the company's Web browser.
