ITEC Setup

It sounds like you guys have gotten everything together. I have time this
afternoon to pickup or drop something off at the center if needed. I also
have time tomorrow to help man the booth for one of the shifts if someone is
still needed. It sounds like a display is being set up demonstrating how
linux can serve several client's applications such as star office. It also
sounds like the substitution power of samba will be shown. I don't really
have a fast enough box to install a meaningful demonstration of
Transgaming's Winex, but it would be nice. Without the internet, I suppose
demonstrating the routing and firewalling capabilities of linux would be
impractical.

You guys probably know what kind of people come by the booth. I assume that
it is a lot of business representatives looking for reliable and cost
effective solutions. Is there any literature to share with them? I have
saved a few cost analysis studies for linux vs. microsoft implementations
from Slashdot, but they are much larger projects than most would be looking
for. Anyone know of anything that I should print and bring to the show for
the attendees to take home?

You all have done such good work. The attendees will surely be left with a
fine impression of the state of the open source movement in Hawaii. I'd
like to help with the cash outlays for the show if someone is still
uncompensated for their contribution. Let me know.
