cgi not working :(

What changes have you already made?  Anything in httpd.conf or other files?
Where did you put the DBD perl module?  I may need to undo changes that you
may have made.

It may be a lot easier to install the perl packages from Mandrake 8.1 beta1
rather than attempting to install perl from sources on top of Red Hat's
installation.  Mandrake's perl packages are much more complete, with nearly
all perl modules available in RPM packages.  The RPM dependencies may become
ugly, so please wait for me to do the installation.

BTW, when you run perl at the command line it is not compiling the code.
Perl is interpreted at runtime.  When you run perl it is called an
"interpreter".
