kppp to Flex?

Ola!

I'm using the Magenta Fedora 6.2 distro, but had a similarly annoying problem
with kppp. I was able to manually set up dial-out (to LavaNet) with no problems.
Ifup ppp0 worked every time. However, kppp refused to connect, giving me no
meaningful error message in the log or dial status window. As it turned out,
merely changing the device from /dev/ttyS1 (modem is on 2nd serial port) to
/dev/modem fixed it. I didn't bother looking deeper and getting to the root of
why the link worked but the direct reference didn't work. /dev/ttyS1 had also
worked correctly when checking the modem with minicom.
