Jason,
Hmm...Redhat/Mandrake is a good one to start with. Where does the install stop? Give us more information.
You can get iso images from:
http://linuxiso.org
They have most of the Linux distros at there site, about 55min. if you use a download utility

Subject: [luau] Help
Hell everyone. I joined a few months ago, but have not really posted or asked much, just sat back and watched for a bit.
I am trying to install Linux on a desktop system, but I keep running into problems. I downloaded the ISO files for Mandrake 7.2, Red Hat 7.0, and Corel Linux 2.0, I aslo own a copy of Mandrake WinLinux 7.1. Out of the four I have had limited success. Each time I try to install Mandrake 7.2, it locks up and stops installing, as does Red Hat. I've had the best luck so far with Corel Linux, however I did start having a probem with it not going to the graphical login screen after a few days.
Could someone suggest a Linux "flavor" to start out with and where I can download a copy of it. I have a CD Burner on another system. I am connected to Road Runner and would like to download it from somewhere that I can get a good connection, and does not take me 5-6 hour to download.
System Specs:
AMD K6-2 333mhz
32 megs ram
4.0 gig HD & 14.0 gig HD
SiS 620 Video Card (8 megs Ram)
ESS Sound Card
Also when is the next meeting?
Thanks in advance.
Jason Smallwood
