I strongly suggest installing SuSE 6.1 and go from there.
6.0 had quite a few problems - the updates are over 200MB
alone.  6.1 is on the SuSE ftp site, and I think event the
SuSE 6.1 evaluation CD is there, too, in an ISO image.
