[LUAU] Trouble going on the web.

Ok here is my problem. I can't get on the web, telnet, or ftp to anywhere.
I can ping other hosts and get replys, but I just can't get on the web,
telnet, or ftp anywhere. It's weird. I use the old rrlogin setup and i'm
running red hat 5.2. I have no idea on how to set it up that new rrsmpcd.
I'm still new at linux, so I don't have an idea how all this login works.
Could someone please help me with the process to make my linux box, "have
access to the cyber world"? Thanks
