Michael,

Sorry I can't help with kdm - don't use it myself - I do recall several
msg's in the last week or so on the caldera-users list with instructions to
get kdm working, sorry weren't of interest to me so didn't save them.

Ref startx - If you have KDE rpm's properly installed, at the command prompt
type kde rather than startx and it should bring the kde desktop up directly.

The kde script should be located in /opt/kde/bin - have a look at it and
follow where it gets its initialization params.
