Ok,

here's my latest changes to rrsmpcd. This time I included the entire
source, create you own patch if your wish. Remember, this version requires
the line:

servername protocol-server.hawaii.rr.com

int the /etc/rrsmpcd.conf file.

Changes in this version:

The client status request works. Before rrsmpcd was listening for status
requests using the TCP protocol, now it uses the UDP protocol per the spec.
Seems to work (Oceanic had set my relogin timeout to 10 minutes). 

With the old rrsmpcd, with the Oceanic default parameters, as I understand
it, a Linux workstation will only remain logged in for no more than 10 days.
