This problem has been fixed in the latest rrsmpcd.  The version I am
running no longer re-login every 2 hours.  I've been connected
continuously since Nov 17.

This, of course, means that the client status check is working.  The first
release has a problem with the socket initialization.  Note, I did not
update to the MAXLEN changes.  I believe the patches from albert were the
ones that fixed the above problem.  Is it time to make another release?
