I was just looking through Ben's logs and this makes no sense.  What would a company gain from port scanning a customer.  Digital Island scanned all 65000 ports!  How does this do anything except slow down the network with useless traffic?  

In their response to him they say he is runing a DNS server, and they ping his DNS to improve performance.  How does pinging his DNS improve performance?
