<DIV>*ISS WEB SERVERS SEE A DROP, SURVEY SAYS<BR>Some 300,000 Microsoft Internet 

Information Server (IIS) users dropped the<BR>Web server last month, with 

130,000 of them moving to open-source rival<BR>Apache, according to the latest 

numbers from a Netcraft survey. All isn't<BR>bad for Microsoft, however. The 

same survey shows the company gained<BR>600,000 development sites interested in 

adopting its .NET Web initiative,<BR>which is a series of Web-based services and 

software for businesses. The<BR>latest survey was done after a security analyst 

at Gartner Group urged<BR>companies to drop IIS because of viruses, such as Code 

Red and Nimda,<BR>aimed at unpatched IIS vulnerabilities. Netcraft uses an 

automated server<BR>query to determine a server's software, average uptime and
