I don't know about Hawaii, but I worked with Bell Atlantic in New York fix severial problems they were having with DSL.  I was amazed that they had hundreds of DSL lines coming into the CO and then only had a T-3 to send all of that traffic back to their central CO.  Those customers were guaranteed speed to the CO and from there everyone shared the T-3 to the main CO before going out to the net.  The Acatel hardware was designed for multiple O-3's.  Every thing is shared somewhere!!!!!!!!!
