Honestly, it depends on your needs.  The
Intellistation A Pro appears to be a workstation for
graphics design, on par with an SGI Fuel or Sun Blade
2500.  Due to the nature of graphics work, this
workstation would be better suited for that task
versus a 10-node cluster.  The cluster would be good
to attach to if you are rendering 3-D animation or
graphics, but even then your software has to be able
to take advantage of a cluster.  The latest version of
Maya is supposed to not only be Linux compatible, but
also take advantage of clustered environments. 
Besides, do you thikn you could take the heat and
noise that comes from having a 10-node cluster as a
desktop? ;)
