Hi folks,

My department in UH-ITS is doing R&D on the possibility of replacing our Oracle database servers on
Solaris in order to save cost. We are also looking into the possibility of replacing our Solaris
boxes. First we need to sell our idea and convince the management. We are looking to test out
SAP/MaxDB, MySQL, PostGre and DB2 on Suse, Red Hat or Debian to find the best performance
combination. I'm wondering if anybody in the list had done this before or can provide any advice.
