This is not a problem, or an error. Every Windows NT system, workstation and
server, checks to see if it should be a browser. Servers are assigned a
higher
status, which increases by OS version. So, an NT 4.0 server will "win" over
NT
3.51 server. Samba sets its OS version code rather high, so it usually wins.

If you plan on leaving Samba up all the time, leave things as they are. If
the
server is not production and will go up and down more than once a week,
configure smb.conf to not be a browser. The relavent parameter in smb.conf
is
local master. Place local master = no in the [global] section. I prefer to
use
the SWAT web-based configuration tool.
