If you want to get a "cert", you can try out the FREE Linux Administration 
(General) test at Brainbench.com. Now if you want a paper certificate to 
display on your wall that will cost you $15. :)

The Linux test is not that difficult, and takes less than an hour. I took the 
test to evaluate my current knowledge without any studying. I passed rather 
easily, but you may prefer to have resources handy. Now there are a few other 
FREE Brainbench.com tests that I find very challenging. The FREE Java test 
was not easy at all.

You have to create a login to take the FREE tests. Once you have a login, 
click on the Test Center link. Then click on the link to view all FREE tests 
where the Linux test is listed.
