I agree with Yuser (sorry dont know your name).   My brother has no formal
computer background but he likes to fiddle with his computer a lot.  The
main reason that he doesnt work more with linux than with windows is the
fact that MS has the upperhand in the amount of applications.

Installing applications on a linux machine could be a little more
user friendly in my opinion.  Im probably behind the times but I think the
only easy (non command line) application that ive ever installed was
StarOffice.   I think more applications should install like that.
