Nautilus may have crashed.  When that happens if you save your session
on logout, it won't come back.  To get it back,
goto "Start Here" or just run "nautilus & disown & exit" at a shell.

Ray ~ It worked, thank you.  My desktop came back up but for some reason my 
internet connections stopped working.  I tried both Konqueror and Gnome 
browser window and nothing connects... the web addresses were perfectly 
fine.  I had to go back into Windows to do this.
